Because maxing it the normal way (and if you didn't exploit the AFK LB Farm glitch) takes an absurd amount of time. There will likely be LB point accelleration in the HM update.
On that note, mods can lock this topic and create a new one (or, even better, a new forum) when Hard Mode is released, as much of the information in this information is obsolete.

You seem to be misunderstanding me. I was talking entirely about the earlier comments on whether protector should be a req for hard mode - protector is not account wide. As for the menial tasks - they were examples of bonuses I find tedious, not ones I "can't do".

As far as I know, they also added another rank, recently, as well.
Don't know if it's been said yet, but this weekend event doubles Lightbringer and Sunspear points in 'Normal and hard mode'.

You forgot to work Soul Reaping in there somehow. I'm quitting never to be back or post here again, it's too hard and they never listen and never do exactly what I want when I want in the way I want it (because, of course, I am Strcpy - the all powerful God of Gaming and my desire is propagated to every other player in existence, none have different opinions!), I'm going to WoW where it is all strawberry shortcake lala happy land. Well, except for my normal time playing GW, but I'm not logging on any extra or purchasing any more anet titles I wouldn't normally buy (except for when I feel like it)!
I'm more hoping that we understood the proposed changes to "normal" mode correctly and that they are included in this update, but if the rewards for sunspear and lightbringer title are enough better I'll be a happy camper.

I see a lot of whining, somebody grab the diapers...
Remember that this is Anets bread-and-butter, this game IS their entire livelyhood and future as a company. I'm sure that they ARE and will CONTINUE to work on things to their full potential. Give them a little understanding and appreciation for their extreme efforts and count on them to "right the wrongs" of the game as soon as they can. When they make gameplay/balance changes it includes 3 very different games, 10 very different classes, countless modes of play and now "hard mode" for each pve aspect. That is a lot of work to balance perfectly and a 100% immediate success rate on such would be on the level of "savior".
Graciously awaiting the arrival of hard mode and subsequent updates,

Yes, indeed. ArenaNet is an awesome company. They bend over backwards for there customers. That is no joke.
Companies like EA...I dont even know how they stay in business. If you have ever played bf2, 2142 you know exactly what Im talking about.

I agree with this statement completely (well i cut off the last piece but you get the point). When playing a game, I like to know that I died because my strategy was incorrect and I can use my brain to figure out what I should be doing, not because an area requires me to play a game of chicken with mobs and if I take one wrong step it's all over. I don't think many people play GW for tedious mob pulling. I think people enjoy the fact that it's a game of chess, every build has a counter and accomplishing certain feats requires that you find a proper counter to your enemies.
One side note: Alot of people like to sit here and call people whiners for voicing their opinions. Many of those people have the best interest of the game at heart, and they voice their opinions to try to improve things. That's not to say that some don't overdo it, but nobody should ever be shunned because they simply voice their opinion about changes to the game. Last time I checked, Anet encouraged that because it helps them understand what their customer base really wants. If you want to disengage yourself from the feedback process, by all means go for it, but please, don't try to embarrass anyone for simply having an opinion on something.
